2024-25 Deacon Candidate Bios 

I am excited to announce the 2024-25 Deacon Candidates process and provide an update on the upcoming vote. Here’s a summary of the timeline and important details for your knowledge:

  • July and August: The congregation was invited to submit names of men they believed qualified for the role of deacon. These submissions were carefully reviewed to ensure the candidates met the initial qualifications.
  • August: The Deacon Selection Team, comprised of 3rd-year deacons, who are rotating off,  began the process of interviewing and evaluating deacon candidates.
  • Selection of Candidates: The deacon body selected the appropriate number of candidates from the vetted list.
  • Candidate Contact and Interviews: The 3rd-year deacon team reached out to the selected candidates to discuss the role and conduct interviews, ensuring their readiness and commitment.
  • September: The vetted and approved candidates are now being presented with a two-week notice before the official vote, following the church constitution.
  • October 6: The church will hold a vote to approve these candidates.

The candidates being nominated this year are Sean Brockman, Aaron Butler, Marc Butler, Matt Franklin, Phillip Hardy, Brittan Jones, Barry Sanford, Josh Savley, and Bradley Shelander.

Over the next two Sundays, September 22 and 29, you will have an opportunity to meet the deacon candidates at Glade Central after each service.

Please continue to pray for these men and the important role they will play in our church. We look forward to the opportunity to come together as a congregation for the vote on October 6.
