Bible Recommendations

We often get questions about which Bible we use at church or how to select a Bible.

At our church, we use the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) because it offers a trustworthy and faithful translation that balances accuracy with readability. The CSB stays true to the original text without sacrificing clarity, making it easy to read and understand. Whether you're new to the Bible or a seasoned reader, the CSB helps you engage with Scripture in a meaningful way. It’s designed to be clear and accessible while still honoring the integrity of the original languages. We believe the CSB is a reliable choice for personal study, teaching, and sharing God’s Word with others. If you're considering a Bible translation, we encourage you to give the CSB a try!

Age-level ministry leaders at The Glade Church have several different recommendations to help you narrow down the search for a Bible for your child of any age. We encourage bringing your physical copy of God's Word every time because in small groups and classrooms we open the Word and we use it every week!

PRESCHOOL

“The Jesus Storybook Bible” Every Story Whispers His Name By: Sally Lloyd Jones
This book is a great way to introduce preschoolers to God’s wonderful story. As one of our milestone events in the life of The Glade Church, we present families with a copy of The Jesus Storybook Bible in the Parent/Child Dedication service.

CHILDREN

For elementary kids, we recommend the CSB Explorer Bible for Kids. It comes in various cover styles and it’s the CSB version, which we use throughout our church, at VBS, and at camp. As one of our milestone events in the life of The Glade Church, we present upcoming Kindergarteners with a copy of The Explorer Bible on Promotion Sunday.

MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL

As students grow older, their reading level and ability to truly study God's Word grows too! If you are looking for a bible to take to church, to read from, and have separate Bible studies/devotions, we recommend the CSB Student Study Bible. This Bible is available "non-indexed" or with the books of the Bible "indexed" (visible in the page edges) to help students finding passages quickly.

Some students are ready to go deeper. The CSB Apologetics Study Bible for Students will include biblical teaching on how to defend their faith. This Bible includes many additional articles and explanations to aid with the study and explanation of difficult passages and concepts throughout scripture.
